What is IPL treatment?
IPL facial rejuvenation treatments are quickly becoming one of the most popular treatments that are performed in spas. Being less invasive and less costly than surgery, and often times providing more natural results, IPLs aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
How does IPL work?
Intense Pulsed Light, or IPL treatments are the go-to option when treating vascular conditions like rosacia, broken capillaries, brown spots and discoloration caused by sun damage and other environmental sources. IPL treatments also ramp up the skin's production of collagen which plumps the skin and reduces the appearance of pores and fine lines, making the skin appear younger, smoother and tighter.
Age spots and broken capillaries disappear when short blasts of polychromatic, high-intensity light penetrate below the skin's surface, blasting up the melanin and blood vessels that are causing visual damage. Once the skin heals, smooth, clear, glowing skin is left behind.
To see the best results, you'll need to do a series of three to six treatments, around one month apart, and treatments last around thirty minutes. There are other lasers on the market, like Fraxel, which will yield better results for a single issue, but if you have a broad spectrum of issues to tackle (age spots, redness, and loss of firmness) IPL treatments are great for repairing multiple issues at the same time.
